‘Higher Education Leadership Forum’ (HELF)

Dear students,

The ‘Higher Education Leadership Forum’ (HELF), organised at the University of Sheffield in September 2018, will be celebrated. The call for presentations is currently open, with a deadline of the 31st January. HELF is relevant for anyone with an interest in leadership in HE – including leadership development practitioners, academics and senior leaders.

The inaugural Higher Education Leadership Forum was held at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada, in April 2017. It was established following five years of close partnership working between Carleton and Sheffield universities in the field of leadership development. The forum was founded to;

  • promote the sharing of good practice around developing leaders within HE beyond our 2 universities
  • to provide access to the best in the field internationally so that we could learn from them, and to
  • promote the international reputation of the University of Sheffield.

More information can be found on the attached leaflet and also on the website.

Scholarships in the Swiss-European Mobility Programme

The ETH Zürich University wishes all students a merry Christmas and as a gift informs us that the Swiss national agency Movetia has just announced that the scholarships in the Swiss-European Mobility Programme will be slightly increased as of the academic year 2018/19, by CHF 20/month, i.e. CHF 100/semester.

Also, the country categories have been adjusted, mirroring the changes made in the Erasmus programme, so for students from some of our partners the scholarship will also be changed (in most cases increased) due to this.

You can find the overview in English version published on the website. Scholarships will continue to be calculated with 5 monthly rates per semester, independent of the exact duration of stay.

Don’t forget to check out ETH Zurich’s new promotional video linked on (make sure the sound is turned on high 😉
