Objectives

This project aims to reform higher education in geodesy and cartography in Ukraine, Armenia and Moldova in order to support sustainable development in these countries. The reform will integrate traditional geodesy and cartography with new technologies such as Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to create modern geographic information technology (GIT) education in the partner countries.

    The specific objectives of the project are:
  • This project aims to modernise higher education in geographic information technology (GIT) in Armenia, Ukraine and Moldova to support sustainable development, by:
  • - Strenghening the link between GIT education and society in partner countries
  • - Reforming existing curricula and creating new GIT curricula in partner countries before July 2012
  • - Establishing six GIS laboratories before July 2011
  • - Re-training partner country staff through 4 intensive training courses before May 2012
  • - Introducing new pedagogical methods and quality assurance mechanism before June 2013
  • - Creating web-based e-learning system in before June 2013
